Fleece Show
The 2010 Navan Fair Alpaca Fleece Show is sanctioned theAlpaca Canada Show System (ACSS). We invite all breeders from near and far to enter to compete for the ultimate honour of Supreme Champion and the Mary-Ann English Judge's Choice Award.
We are pleased to offer online entry for fleeces and online registration for all entries, pens, sponsorship, marketing opportunities and advertising. Registration is complete only when remittance form with payment and required documentation is received by due date.
2010 NFA Fleece Show Registration process:
1. submit fleece on-line entry form (form provides 4 fleece entries, you may enter more than 4 fleeces by completing and submitting an additional form)
2. submit completed on-line registration form
3. print and mail completed remittance form with payment, copy of CLAA registration and fleece sample by due date.
4. print and fill out fleece identification form for each fleece entered, place it in fleece bag and send to be received by July 17.
Entries must have CLAA registration.
Entries with pending registration status are NOT accepted.
Percentage purebred alpacas with CLAA certificates of registration are eligible to show. Please mark percentage purebred alpaca fleeces with BP.

Rules and guidelines 2010
Sexes are combined.
Age of alpaca when shorn:
A – 6 months to under 14 months – 1st fleece
B – 14 months to under 24 months
C – 24 months to under 4 years of age
D – 4 years of age to under 6 years of age
E – 6 years of age and over
Colour divisions:
White
Light- (includes beige, light fawn)
Fawn- (includes medium fawn, dark fawn)
Brown- (includes light brown, medium brown, dark brown)
Black- (bay black and black)
Grey- (rose grey, silver grey)
Multi
Fleeces shall be presented in clear plastic bags with no paper inserted and have the required fleece identification form included.
No fleece under six (6) months of age is eligible for fleece competition.
Fleeces must be from the most recent shearing of the alpaca.
Minimum staple length: 3 inches (76 mm); fleeces with less than 3"shall be disqualified.
Maximum staple length is 6.5 inches (16.5mm) for age groups other then Junior classes. Fleeces exceeding max. staple length will be disqualified.
There is no max. staple length for Junior Classes.
Fleeces older than 14 months since shorn shall be disqualified.
Ribbons will be awarded to fourth place.
First and second place fleeces will compete for Colour and Reserve Colour Champions. (Only fleeces which have achieved a minimum score of 60 points are eligible to compete for fleece championships)
Colour Champions will compete for Supreme Champion.
There will be a Judge's Choice Award. This award need not be based on final score awarded.
Fee:
Registration before July 1, 2010
$45 for the first fleece entered;
$35 for each other fleece (Fleece Show)
Registration between July 1-15, 2010
$70 for the first fleece entered;
$50 for each other fleece (Fleece Show)
No registration, changes or refunds after deadline date of July 15, 2010
